Perhaps The Scariest Website Ever February 8, 2010

The other day I stumbled upon one of the most scary websites on the internet. And no, it was not one of those sites thats a big black screen and then a hideous face flashes the screen. It was a debt clock of the United States, with quickly fluctuating numbers that showed the massive debt the United States has acquired. Perhaps the most astonishing thing about the clock is the numbers never dropped, ever. The steady, ongoing increase in debt makes me wonder. I knew that we were 12 trillion dollars in debt, but I never knew that our debt to national countries amount over 50 trillion dollars. It’s crazy, how the United States as a country is acting like many people do with credit cards. We are spending money we don’t have and are not able to pay it back. Here is a snapshot of the site. I strongly urge you to check it out (click snapshot):

Stress January 14, 2010

Firstly i would like to apologize for the lack of posting lately. School is overwhelming and I am very stressed out. Stress is actually a fantastic topic.

Stress is something we all feel. It a variety of ways stress always seems to work its way into our lives. Now stress will come and go at a consistent rate and we have absolutely no control over how much stress we have. What we do have control over is how stress effects us, and how we react with stress. The easiest way to relieve stress is to make its effect on us diminish. Let’s say you have friends who pick on you, simply think about why they do so. Most likely their is an obviously apparent reason as why they would do so. So whenever they cause you stress simply go to the point where you realize why. Now some stress you can’t control its effect such as school. You can’t control how much school work you get on a daily basis. So the second option is how you react to stress. If you have to read a 250 page chapter book in one month you might be pretty stressed from that daunting number. Well in this case you could divide the pages into the 31 days of the month. That means you will only have to read about 8 pages a day which is a lot less scary. The key is to dissipate your problems so they don’t seem as troublesome and therefore you are less stressed. So hopefully now you can look at stress in a new light.

What are you stressed about? What can you do to ease that stress?

…by Tianna, so now I have to write five random facts about my self

1 – Before Blogging I Didn’t Like Technology, Ya its true. The kid who created so many sites and is constantly filling his life with technology actually didn’t even use the computer that much until May 2007. After that my interest in the subject grew and now I think technology rocks.

2 – I Flip-flop Ideas Often, For example, for years and years up until i think three months ago i swore i would never where a flannel no matter how popular they got because I hated how they look. Well sure enough I changed and I wear flannels a little more now.

3 – I get Bored!, Sometimes i even deny myself that i’m bored because i constantly have ideas, but i think its normal for people to get bored.

4 – I Do Non Computer Stuff, Most people who know me from  the internet think that since I have so much stuff to manage on the computer i don’t do other stuff. Well i do, i am a normal kid who plays video games, hangs out with friends, gets relatively good grades and what not.

5 – I Don’t Like Being Tagged, Ya being tagged is not a good thing. Because then you have to say 5 random facts about yourself like what I am doing now and its not fun.

So reflecting on #5 i am only gonna tag two people:

Dieter

Chad

Teachers… December 22, 2009

I believe I’ve said this before, but I try to be an optimistic person at all times, but occasionally I do get frustrated. I’m the type of person that would take a humorous friend rather than an obcenely cool friend any day. In school I don’t have much trouble with making friends, but a lot of times I’ll find it hard to have socially healthy relationships with teachers. I like to determine a teacher’s boundaries and what can and can’t be done and said. This year my teachers have been really fun, and I value a teacher that is funny, smart, nice, and diciplinary. Arguably I do have some teachers who bother me because they lack those traits. For instance, a teacher who is not funny may not be as laid back, and may take humor rudely or offensively. These are the kinds of teachers I seem to get in trouble with most of the time. Dually noted, I do occasionally get carried away with jokes, and I have no shame in admitting that. I’ve learned first hand that teachers can be simply cruel, and I have also learned the consequences of taking things too far. I think that habit was created out of the realization that I could do a lot of things without getting in trouble for some unknown reason, and through that assumption did my behavior escelate into sheer rudeness. I try my best to maintain an all around healthy record, but I have problems with pushing the limits of teachers. I did get in trouble today for something not caused by me, but perhaps indirectly spawned, and through false assumption was caused, by me. I felt guilty about my lack of maturity at that time and a lot of guilt was settling in my gut, so through this post I am releasing my stress and tension.

What’s the worst trouble you’ve ever gotten into at school?

My Meal In The Sky December 1, 2009

Well i wasn’t technically eating in midair but I was eating above ground in a restaurant that feels much like a U.F.O. The restaurant is called, The Encounter. Probably due to its futuristic look and atmosphere. The restaurant is located in an airport near me, but it is about 5 stories up and gives you a fantastic view of the planes taking off and the busy lives of frequent travelers. Here is the main sign and me standing at the front of the elevator that takes one up:

The elevator looks futuristic with buttons that you tap instead of pushing the button in much like a touch screen. Now normally I don’t like fancy restaurants but eating their was not just a dinner, it was an experience. As soon as you arrive and emerge from the elevator you notice where you are. You are five stories above ground with a fantastic view of the planes taking flight right before your eyes as you dine. The tables look futuristic with a hint of retro feel. I absolutely loved it and here are some pictures I took.

Pretty cool view of the air traffic control tower (pic #4)

What do you think of the place? What is your favorite food?

Turkey Day November 25, 2009

As we all know today is Turkey Day better known as Thanksgiving Day. So today I will travel with my family only about 30 minutes to reach the rest of my family and sit down to the traditional meal. And of course I am excited to reconnect my relationships with my Family. I absolutely love Thanksgiving, the whole idea of people coming together regardless of where they stand in the world. Simply coming together, to give thanks, to create memories, to establish life-long bonds. It might be the most important holiday of all. What holiday is more important then the holiday that celebrates what we have. It doesn’t grant us what we didn’t have before, but it allows us to appreciate what we already have which is unlike all the other holidays. So tomorrow I will give thanks for what I have, what i have already, and what I appreciate most on this earth. And of course I will enjoy the traditional dinner, i so love.

What do you like about thanksgiving? What are you thankful for?

Control November 21, 2009

Lately, I have been struggling with an issue in my life. It’s about control, the things I have absolutely no control over. Lately several examples of this have come up. Recently I purchased an Xbox 360 and all these issues sprung up with wrong cables. Then once the Xbox started running I realized that I was not going to be able to go line with the standard ethernet cable. Which forces me to purchase a 70$ wireless receiver. These things have been happening a lot lately, and they frustrated me a lot. Yes, emphasis on “ed”. These things don’t frustrate me anymore, because I realized that if i don’t have control over something, then why fuss over it and become all worked up. So from now on I will see the things I do have control over and not dwell on the past.

“The Past Is History, The Future Mystery but Today is a Gift, that’s why they call it Present”

What do you not have control over? What do you have control over?

Optimism… November 21, 2009

Optimism: an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome.

Optimism, in short, is the mental mind-set to think positively at all times, and to see the best parts of things. Ever since the beginning of this year, I’ve tried a new life style choice. I made my resolution to remain optimistic for the entire year. Now coming to the end of the year, my life has drastically improved. Now that I see that there is something good in everyone, and everything, I can maintain a happy stress-free lifestyle. Even if something bad happens, you shouldn’t let it affect you. Optimism is truly the simple effective way to live joyful and cheery.

Do you live optimistic?

I was in Language Arts flipping through a textbook when I found this poem and decided to make a video out of it. The words struck me with great familiarity. From the first sentence, I knew what the message was.

If looking good, and being popular, means being unable to express yourself freely, than I choose to be an ugly weed.

Let them be as flowers,
always watered, fed, guarded, admired,
but harnessed to a pot of dirt.

I’d rather be a tall, ugly weed,
clinging on cliffs, like an eagle
wind-wavering above high, jagged rocks.

To have broken through the surface of stone,
to live, to feel exposed to the madness
of the vast, eternal sky.
To be swayed by the breezes of an ancient sea,
carrying my soul, my seed,
beyond the mountains of time or into the abyss of the bizarre.

I’d rather be unseen, and if
then shunned by everyone,
than to be a pleasant-smelling flower,
growing in clusters in the fertile valley,
where they’re praised, handled, and plucked
by greedy, human hands.

I’d rather smell of musty, green stench
than of sweet, fragrant lilac.
If I could stand alone, strong and free,
I’d rather be a tall, ugly weed.

Would you rather be someone who is faddish yet unable to change, or someone who is detested yet able to be unique and free?
